Boardroom Show 2025
Best in Show Winner
This hand shaped fish surfboard blends surf heritage, natural materials, and cultural design in a rideable work of art.
Outward-sweeping redwood and bass wood stringers run from the nose and flare toward the tail, framing the board’s shape and echoing the split of a fish tail, enhancing both strength and visual symmetry. The inlay features reclaimed old growth redwood from Northern California - the same timber used in the earliest California wood surfboards—connecting the board to surfing’s deep roots. Hand-foiled redwood twin fins match the inlay, providing natural flex and drive.
The inlay is adorned with a traditional Japanese scale pattern, drawn from irezumi tattoo art, symbolizing fluidity, strength, and respect for the sea.
Every detail, from the wood grain to the foil of the fins, honors craftsmanship, cultural depth, and the timeless joy of glide.
